Off the rack curtains though are inexpensive, but they are available in limited colours and patterns. These curtains are poorly made, and offer a temporary solution to decor your living room. On the other hand, custom made curtains are expensive because of the good chosen fabric, and proper lining style. These curtains take time to be completed, but once they are ready and hanged, they make your room attractive and unique. The lining feature enhances the life of these curtains; you can enjoy seeing them for a long time. Adding lining to your curtains is something very important. If you are living in a cold area, thermal lining should be added. Although it will increase the cost of curtains, but it will stop the energy escaping your home, and it will also increase the life of your curtains by protecting them from the sun. If you are living in a sunny area, sun rays can be harmful for your curtains. It is wise to add cotton lining to your curtains to protect them from sun. It will reduce the amount of sunlight entering the room, thus save the items like carpet and furniture from fading. For warm countries with lot of sunshine throughout the year, opaque lining keeps out any unwanted light.
Eyelet heading curtains have an even number of metal rimmed eyelets regularly spaced across the width of the curtains. The spaces between the edges of the first/last eyelet and the edge of the curtain are generally half of that of subsequent eyelets. There should be a gap or around 4cm between the inner edge at the top of the eyelet and the top edge of the curtain. Eyelets are available in a choice of colours and sizes. The curtain is threaded onto a suitable pole, concertina fashion, with the edges of the curtain facing the wall. This ensures that the lining is not visible when the curtains are hanging. The even eyelet spacing gives equal folds of fabric in front and behind the pole.
