Eyelet heading curtains have an even number of metal rimmed eyelets regularly spaced across the width of the curtains. The spaces between the edges of the first/last eyelet and the edge of the curtain are generally half of that of subsequent eyelets. There should be a gap or around 4cm between the inner edge at the top of the eyelet and the top edge of the curtain. Eyelets are available in a choice of colours and sizes. The curtain is threaded onto a suitable pole, concertina fashion, with the edges of the curtain facing the wall. This ensures that the lining is not visible when the curtains are hanging. The even eyelet spacing gives equal folds of fabric in front and behind the pole.
Seasonal prints and colour are the basic inspiration of contemporary curtain designs. Light and airy fabric like cotton, net and light silk is preferred in spring/summer season. Flowery prints are in vogue, whether they are printed boldly on the fabric or printed in a subdued manner. Abstract and geometrical prints also make great contemporary designs for curtains. By choosing contemporary designs for curtains, you can assert how contemporary and modern is your own personality and attitude towards the changing trends of home and office furnishings. Beautiful curtain designs are also being made from used and recyclable products. Natural fibre like jute and wooden straws are also used to create wonderful contemporary designs in curtains. Multi-layered curtains are also in vogue if you wish to give your room a formal and rich look.
